This body of work explores the extra-dimensionality of our tangible world. To experience infinity is to step out of the ordinary flow of time, let go of the standard orientation of space, and tune into the wavelength beyond our everyday three-dimensional realm. In our world of mundane perspective, we experience the infinite in glimpses of insight and flashes of inspiration. With the right attention, one can discover an eternity in an entire moment. It’s all around us.

This body of work is a catalogue of impressions observed within the climate of the human experience. In a constant state of flux, energy balances and flows from one place to another, transpires, and circles back on itself. Energy is observable as it changes in phase and character, though the face of these energies are unidentifiable as distinct entities. In this series, I work to capture a variety of energy interactions in abstract sculptural forms.
Spheres and circles, symbolizing the ultimate mystery and irony of life, are used to compose the inter-relatedness of the contributing elements. In the absence of other colors, black and white highlight the balance of the dualistic energy dynamics and the paradoxical co-existence of the polarity that surrounds us.

A hinge is a turning point. It’s a small and simple mechanism that allows powerful motions to take place. It’s rather hidden and not immediately noticeable, but a hinge plays critical role – whether to swing open a hefty front door or to lift a lid of an old record player. A hinge allows change in the dynamics to happen effortlessly. A hinge enables the particular motion that may be vital and pivotal to a given circumstance.
Hinges are everywhere. Many doors and lids in my life have opened and closed, and countless more to come. Hinges upon hinges, life has lead me to places that I never imagined I’d arrive.
Hinges are everywhere. But a hinge would work only when the motion is initiated. Life reveals meaningful composition when all hinges are activated along with a certain intention.

Consciousness Collected is a series of images created on papers with variety of liquids as results of the interactive installation, Collective Consciousness. Each image is labeled with the exact timeframe and the geographical coordinates of which the contributing elements were collected. During the exhibition, a fresh new printmaking paper was placed every week, and also a separate sheet for the last day of the show.

No beginning, no ending. Inclusive yet exclusive. Infinite, however finite. Sphere is a powerful metaphor of the mystery of life.
The shape itself is an ultimate mystery of geometry. The center point and the distance from it are what defines the shape; however, the true core itself is formless and intangible. Its existence is undeniable nonetheless.
Life is curiously full of irony and contradiction. Duality is the recurrent and multidimensional theme that I continue to encounter in everyday life. With eager observations, I have found the concept of sphere widely applicable - both physically and metaphysically - to any existing entity the world consists of: an atom, an eye, an individual person, a family, an event, a country, a social phenomena, a planet, a galaxy, a consciousness, and beyond.

Polar opposites coexist. They collide. They interact. They validate.
This series investigates the relationships between two opposing energies. I am intrigued by the omnipresence of dualities in life - opposite energies that exist in any given subject such as day and night, life and death, pain and pleasure. I feel the contrary nature of almost everything in life is paradoxically complementary, and that opposition is in fact an essential element of each other’s existence. Recognizing contrast is vital to understanding the true value of the other.
The body of work focuses on the impacts that opposites have on each other. It could be a violent collision. It could be a subtle action leading to infinite ramifications. It could be a persistent pressure that is being embraced by the other ever so gently. There always is a moment when this exchange of energy takes place when opposing elements encounter and entwine. These moments highlight the differences of the two, yet also portray their integration, transformation, and acceptance.

Life is an accumulation of events in many different aspects and dimensions. The relation of those events connected to and running through you tells the story of your life. Those events come in various features. Some are positive - happy, bright, and enlightening; and others rather negative - painful, dark, and heavy. We go through a countless number of events every day and night, big and small. Sometimes we don’t even recognize the exact meaning of certain events at the time. But later on they turn out to be important parts of the bigger picture, connecting to other things that happen in life. They accumulate, interrelate, pile on top of one another as life goes on. That’s the story of life.
Living in the age of social media, we are more connected than ever before. Yet ironically, we’ve become more and more anonymous and isolated. It is never easy to tell your fragile naked life story to strangers. But I believe humans are capable of connecting and relating to one another beyond words - by our souls perhaps.
Hoping to connect to your soul, I offer you my representation of anonymous life events. Many are made in glass because the material is just like us humans - it can be so strong and beautiful, yet it can easily break in pieces if hurt or mishandled. It can be open and transparent, or dark and opaque. It can be soothing to touch, but can hurt people if handled wrong. You will also find a few other materials. Metals represent density and indestructibility, whereas clay for warmth and calmness. I invite you to find your events and show us how they relate to each others. Shelves and the work space are provided.
